The Disgraced Knight's Redemption by Ella Matthews #Review TheKnightsMissionsSeriesBook3

The Disgraced Knight's Redemption, the third in Ella Matthews' series, The Knight's Missions, was published by Harlequin Historicals on October 23rd.    A disgraced warrior… Torn between duty and desire! Sir Tristan must win back his honor. His orders from King Edward are simple: seek out the leader of Pwll Du Castle—the unmarried Lady Catrin—and demand she leaves. As Tristan is renowned for his lethal charm and handsome looks, how can she resist? But when the beautiful Welshwoman comes under siege from her covetous neighbor, Tristan finds himself fighting for her! Yet, is it a losing battle? For securing the castle and fulfilling his knightly duty will mean letting Catrin go…  My Thoughts This medieval romance can easily be read as a standalone. You are taken to medieval Wales where Sir Tristan has been tasked by the King to remove Lady Catrin from her position in charge of Pwll Du Castle. You sense from the start his loyalty to his fellow Knights and...

Confetti at the Hummingbird Hotel by Daisy James #Review

Today I am delighted to be on the tour for Daisy James' Confetti at the Hummingbird Hotel, the final book in her Hummingbird Hotel series in a new series.

Welcome back to the Hummingbird Hotel on the gorgeous island of Corfu.

When
Abbie Coleman is asked to organise a Dance & Desserts retreat for a group of exhausted schoolteachers, she decides to pull out all the stops. With line dancing, flamenco and the Charleston on the agenda, along with a whole host of delicious, themed desserts, it’s her chance to prove to everyone that she has – at last – gained the skills needed to be an accomplished hotelier. This time she’s determined there will be no “unfortunate incidents” that make the Hummingbird Hotel look like Corfu’s Comedy Central.

With her wedding to the gorgeous
Nikos Angelopoulos only three weeks away, will she finally be able to deliver a retreat without the habitual chaos and calamity the hotel has become famous for? Can she turn a clunky chicken dance into a classy Charleston and a boogie-woogie into a beautiful ballet? Or will she be boot scootin’ it back to London and life as a floundering florist?

Let Daisy James whisk you away to gorgeous Corfu with a feel-good holiday read filled with sun, sea and a sprinkle of romance. Perfect for fans of Mandy Baggot, Sue Roberts & Sandy Barker

 My Thoughts

This is the perfect end to this trilogy of stories set on Corfu, in the Hummingbird Hotel. I loved the first in the series ( review here ) and it was great to catch up with some familiar characters again. Abbie has a difficult decision to make concerning the future of the hotel and added to that, there is the planning for her forthcoming wedding to Nikos. As you can expect, events don't go to plan, exactly.

I loved the setting in the rather quirky hotel and the workshops Abbie offers are a great way of adding interest and humour into the story. There are some lively characters who appear as the latest guests and plenty of local colour provided by Abbie's friends and colleagues. This is a very enticing holiday read if you are looking to escape to the sunshine and the ending is a satisfying way of signing off from the hotel.

In short: sun, romance and gorgeous Corfu!

About the Author

Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations - the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence - so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.

When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea - china plates and teacups are a must.
