Maddie's Christmas Wedding is the latest novella by Rosie Green.   With the wedding of the year approaching, excitement is running high at the café! But there's just one problem. Will there actually be a wedding?   My Thoughts In this latest festive story, we are taken out of Sunnybrook, in fact, out of the country and taken for a wintry stay in Lapland. It is Maddy's hen party gathering so some of the Little Duck Pond characters are along too. The story continues on from the earlier Cosy Nights and Snowball Fights . The setting is idyllic and so different to life at home. Everything shimmers and shines in the snow and the temperatures are extreme. Everyone’s got a secret wish in Little Pondale this summer.


Mia’s been exceptionally lucky since moving to Lily Pond Lane. But even on her honeymoon with the man of her dreams, she still has one remaining wish.

Ella wishes Gill would propose. But since Mia’s wedding something’s changed in their relationship. Now he’s spending time with newcomer, Tabbie Talbaine, Ella wishes Tabbie will leave as quickly as she arrived.

Tabbie wishes she hadn’t driven her car into a pond. But it could be the best thing that’s ever happened to her. When she discovers Hollywood heartthrob, Justin Lake’s staying in the village, getting an interview for her popular blog isn’t her only wish.

Bree was told she couldn't have a baby. Now she’s expecting twins and is simply wishing it all goes well.

And as for Hettie ... she wishes she could get her hands on an old map of the village. Because there’s something hidden in Little Pondale that Hettie Turner really wants to find.


                                                                                     My Thoughts
As before, Emily Harvale manages to blend new characters into the village with all the familiar ones we have got to know. It has been a great series and even manages to end with a hint as to what the future holds for Mia and Jet, after a return to the fortune telling of earlier stories. Little Pondale has always had a magical quality about it as a place and so it proves in this final instalment.

    Another quality of the stories has always been that you get to see some of the characters' insecurities and flaws. Relationships are not taken for granted and develop naturally. This has been a lovely series, so easy to read and full of light-hearted moments. You could read it as a standalone but of course, it is so much better to catch up on all its predecessors to see the whole Lily Pond journey.

In short: A final flourish for this lovely romantic series.
