The Teacher's Noble Heart by Susanne Dunlap #Review #DoubleDilemmaBook5 #PublicationDay

Susanne Dunlap's Regency novel, The Teacher's Noble Heart is an addition to her double dilemma series. You can read my reviews of  others here:  The Dressmaker's Secret Earl   |   The Sopranos Daring Duke   |   The Falconer's Lost Baron   In Regency Cornwall, governess Miss Wilkins has always survived by being sensible, capable, and self-reliant. When she dares to take a bold step toward independence, she has no intention of complicating her life—or her heart. Her encounters with James Pentarrant, the steadfast captain of the Delabole slate quarry, are marked less by romance than by spirited disagreement. Self-contained and disciplined, James challenges her views at every turn, even as he respects her resolve. What begins as wary sparring and mutual resistance gradually deepens into an understanding neither expected nor sought. The Pop - Up Cake Shop by Rosie Green #Review #LittleDuckPondCafe

Welcome to Book 39 in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series! The Pop-Up Cake Shop is the latest novella by Rosie Green.

Ever the entrepreneur, Ellie is planning to bring cakes to the people with her Travelling Cake Van! But as she’s ‘expecting’ to make a rather more personal delivery of her own very soon, will Katja be the one to get behind the wheel of this fabulously mouth-watering journey into the countryside?

 My Thoughts

Following on with Ellie's acquisition of her 'forever home', the story continues with her latest brainwave to spread the message about the Little Duck Pond Cafe and also to deal with her leftover cakes in a sustainable way. She persuades Katya to become the force behind a pop-up Cake Shop and to drive from village to village, setting up shop as she goes. This comes at just the right time for Katya who has a recent heartbreak to work through and gets her out and about. You gett to glimpse some of the neighbouring communities and to get to know a few people who live outside Sunnybrook.

As ever, romance is in the background and Katya's run -ins with a certain builder and his workers leads to a whole new set of friendships. Ellie is as supportive as you would expect, eagerly awaiting the birth of her baby. With humour and romance, this is as entertaining as others in this series and leaves you wondering just what the staff of the Little Duck Pond Cafe will do next!

In short: entertaining read
