Maddy's Christmas Wedding by Rosie Green #LittleDuckPondCafeBook37#review

Here we are at Book 37 in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series! Maddie's Christmas Wedding is the latest novella by Rosie Green.   With the wedding of the year approaching, excitement is running high at the café! But there's just one problem. Maddy is grappling with a secret. Could it derail all of hers and Jack's glorious plans for their big day? Will there actually be a wedding?   My Thoughts In this latest festive story, we are taken out of Sunnybrook, in fact, out of the country and taken for a wintry stay in Lapland. It is Maddy's hen party gathering so some of the Little Duck Pond characters are along too. The story continues on from the earlier Cosy Nights and Snowball Fights . The setting is idyllic and so different to life at home. Everything shimmers and shines in the snow and the temperatures are extreme. Maddy should be having the time of her life but she finds that she has a lot on her mind and a heartbreaking decision to make.     With the men le...

Murder in Chianti by T A Williams #Review #ArmstrongandOscarCozyMysteryBook2

Having loved the first of TA WilliamsMurder in Tuscany, I was delighted to see the second in the  Armstrong and Oscar Cozy Mystery series, Murder in Chianti. It was published on January 27th by Boldwood Books.

Murder in broad daylight…

When millionaire magnate, Rex Hunter is found with his head bashed in on the eighth hole of his prestigious golf and country club in beautiful Chianti, it’s a clear case of murder. Hunter was rich and successful and the envy of many, so retired DCI Dan Armstrong thinks the case will be a hole in one to solve….

A despised victim…

But as Dan and his trusty sidekick Oscar begin to dig deeper into Hunter’s lifestyle, they discover a man despised by many. A renown womaniser, ruthless boss and heartless family man, it seems no one is particularly sorry to see Hunter dead. And the list of possible suspects is endless…

A murderer covering their tracks.

Dan is determined to catch this clever killer, but it seems every new lead brings another dead end. Will this be one case Dan and his canine companion won’t solve?

 My Thoughts

The second in the series has all the hallmarks we saw in the first. The gorgeous Tuscan scenery dominates and Dan Armstrong is the Englishman abroad. He observes, charms, judges and deduces. Oscar, the lovely Labrador, plays a part in the story and I love their partnership.

You are presented with a whole range of suspects as to who is behind Hunter’s death. Right up until the very end, you are deducting alongside Armstrong. I enjoy a cozy crime story and find this series to be so appealing. As Armstrong settles into his new life, you can’t help but wonder what he will do next and who he will befriend.

In short: a Tuscan whodunnit
