Rainbows Over Puddleduck Farm by Della Galton #Review

I am delighted to return to Puddleduck Farm for the next in the series, Rainbows Over Puddleduck Farm by Della Galton. It was published on February 16th by Boldwood Books

Donā€™t dream your life, live your dreamsā€¦.

Phoebe Dashwood is a passionately committed vet whoā€™s living the dream. Sheā€™s about to open her own small animal practice at her grandmotherā€™s animal shelter, Puddleduck Farm in the New Forest.

Phoebe is helped by her two oldest friends. Her best friend Tori is a mix of hard-headed journalist and hopeless romantic, who thinks love will conquer all when she finds the right man!

Then there is Sam, Phoebeā€™s staunchest ally, whose integrity and selflessness mean he would do anything to make Phoebe happy, no matter what the cost to himself.

Very soon Phoebe discovers that fantasy and reality donā€™t quite match.

An unscrupulous bunny breeder, a poisoned stream, and a complicated attraction all conspire to throw her dreams in a spin.

Events come to a shocking climax at the New Forest Show where Phoebeā€™s world is turned upside down and she has to make some life changing decisions.

 My Thoughts

Having enjoyed the first in this series, I was looking forward to more and I have not been disappointed. Phoebe gets her dream job of running Puddleduck Vets up and running and with it are plenty of light-hearted episodes with some adorable animals and quirky owners. Phoebe's family are still her rock, especially her grandmother, who is incorrigible but who always tries her best for the animals.

As the story develops, you also get to see some of the negative side of animal breeding as unscrupulous breeders take advantage of eager families. The need to be vigilant about the environment come right to Puddleduck Farm.  Coming back to her childhood area has brought Phoebe back in touch with some old friends. You are certainly kept guessing as to who her heart belongs to. This is a lovely read with I am sure, plenty more milage to be had from the series.

In short: friends, family, animals and romance.
