No More Fairy Tales stories to save our planet anthology edited by D A Baden #Review #ShortStories
Today I am pleased to feature an anthology of short stories which are all written with a view to looking to the future with a positive mindset, mindful of ways in which we can help to save our planet.
A collection of inspiring, funny, dark, mysterious, tragic,
romantic, dramatic, upbeat and fantastical short stories. These 24 stories are
written by a variety of authors, with the aim to inspire readers with positive
visions of what a sustainable society might look like and how we might get
there.
The stories are diverse in style, ranging from whodunnits to sci-fi, romance to family drama, comedy to tragedy, and cover a range of solution types from high-tech to nature-based solutions, to more systemic aspects relating to our culture and political economy.
My Thoughts
This is an interesting and varied collection of short stories which all show a different approach to showing how we can live a more sustainable and environmentally friendly life and therefore hopefully contribute to improving the planet. There is a mix of genres, ranging from Science Fiction to romance and there should be something to appeal to most people. I always think of an anthology of short stories as something to dip in and out of. It offers a relaxed approach to reading.
Mostly for You will appeal to those who enjoy a good romance. On the surface, it may appear to be a boy meets girl story. The underlying message is to look for more natural products to clean your house . Certain chemicals might appear to offer an efficient way to get rid of germs and bacteria but they also have a detrimental effect on people's health.
Blue Nation takes us to COP37 and shows us how such a gathering can make a major contribution to cleaning up the ocean. Although most of the globe is covered by water, the seas are largely ignored. This offers the proposition that is they were to be given the status of a country, legislation would be able to be targeted and followed. There would be more accountability.
As a collection of stories, the anthology makes a valuable contribution to the exchange of ideas around sustainable living and encourages the reader to find out more. The kindle version ends each story with an informative link for further discussion.
In short: thought provoking and relevant
