Don't You Want Me Baby? by Rachel Dove #Review

I am delighted to be on the tour to celebrate the latest romcom by R achel Dove,   Don't You Want Mr Baby? which was published by  Boldwood Books on 15th November .    Amber Fitzpatrick is about to hit thirty and has achieved none of the things she hoped to have done by now. Her dreams of owning her own business seem out of reach. Her boyfriend has just dumped her and now her biological clock is clanging in her head. But maybe Amber doesn’t need a man for the next stage of her life? Maybe as an independent woman she can have a baby all by herself? There’s only one problem. Handsome but excruciatingly annoying best friend Tyler Williams. Tyler thinks Amber’s motherhood plans are plain crazy! She just needs to wait for Mr. Right to come along…and maybe he’s closer than she thinks? But with Amber hellbent on doing it alone, Tyler sets out to prove to her that being her best friend could also come with excellent benefits…if only she's brave enough to take the chance.

Love and Ohana Drama by Melissa Baldwin #Review

Today we are travelling to Hawaii for a sun-kissed romcom: Melissa Baldwin's Love and Ohana Drama. There is also a great International Giveaway for you to enter to win an Amazon Giftcard. Details onhow to enter are at the bottom of this post.

Love and Ohana Drama is a romantic comedy that explores the challenges of family dynamics and reminds readers that there is always hope for a second chance. Sometimes the most challenging situations bring the most happiness . . .

Twenty-something Cora Fletcher is a book-loving public relations executive who lives with her overly Zen best friend and attention-loving cat. Newly single and focusing on her exciting career, she feels like she’s in a good place. She's even been invited on an all-expenses-paid Hawaiian vacation! The only catch—it’s a family reunion . . . and her family can be a lot to handle.

Cora vows to not let that get in the way, but even before the family has boarded the plane, the ohana drama begins. As usual, there's the sister-in-law who is bent on causing friction, the self-centered cousins, and the aunt who loves to party a bit too much. Her mother has filled the itinerary with endless activities, and she's even invited Cora’s ex-boyfriend in an attempt to get them back together.

Although she feels overwhelmed, Cora gets a blast from her past that could impact her life forever. This is one welcome reunion she did not expect . . .

Will Cora make it through a week of family togetherness? And will she be able to say aloha to someone she thought was out of her life forever?

My Thoughts

This is a true escapist read and it is a delight to travel over to Hawaii for the family celebrations. With three generations invited, you are given an amusing look at how they all relate. Family and friendship is at the heart of the story and if you were wondering, 'ohana' is the Hawaiian term for family. Of course, not everything in the family celebration goes according to plan.

Cora is such a relatable character. Family dynamics are complicated and, in many ways, she feels like a slight outsider to her more extrovert siblings and family members. The reader does tend to agree with her reaction to them all. The colourful behaviour of many of the guests adds to feeling of celebration and there are plenty of humorous moments. I thoroughly enjoyed this read- a real tonic on a wintry day.

In short: Travel, romance, family.
