See the Stars by Eleanor Ray #Review

See the Stars by Eleanor Ray will be  published on February 5th 2026 by Piatkus .  Do you ever feel that life isn't going to plan?   When Alice Thorington collapses in the street after a particularly hellish day at work, she must finally admit to herself that her outwardly happy life - steady relationship, well-paid job, beautiful flat in the city - isn't everything she'd hoped it would be. Burnt out by long hours and living a life that doesn't fulfil her dreams, Alice returns home to Yorkshire.  Her childhood home brings complicated family dynamics, a rediscovery of her passion for stargazing and two new friends: Berti, a boy who finds it easier to count the stars than interact with people, and Matt, her brother's best friend and Alice's teenage crush. With each of them facing their own struggles, can the stars that meant so much to Alice in her past help them to find their way in the present?  Filled with heart and warmth, this uplifting novel...

A Highland Family Affair by Lisa Hobman #Review

I am so happy to be on the tour for Lisa Hobman's third Scottish Highlands novel, A Highland Family Affair. It is published by Boldwood Books on October 21st.

Can people ever really change or are family ties always set to unravel?

After inheriting Drumblair Castle over her older brother Kerr, Lady Olivia MacBain has had to forge a new life for herself far away from New York and her dream career in fashion. She fears her brother's bitterness has fractured their relationship to the point of no return and is still clearing away the devastation he left when he disappeared.

Kerr's unexpected return and supposed change of heart raises eyebrows. He is now seeking forgiveness and to rebuild the bridges he previously wrecked, but can he be trusted, or is it all just smoke and mirrors?

While her friends are settling down, Olivia patiently waits for childhood sweetheart Brodie to propose and wonders if she will ever get her happy ever after. Can Olivia find a happy future or are promises always made to be broken?

Perfect for the fans of Alison Sherlock, Jessica Redland and Fay Keenan.

My Thoughts

This is an enjoyable series which builds up a web of relationships which tell you a lot about the community in Drumblair. Sibling relationships are complicated and none more so than that between Olivia and her brother, Kerr. You are kept guessing as to Kerr’s real motivations in returning home. Olivia cannot decide whether she can trust him and whether he will ever truly accept the fact that she has been named heir, over her.

You also see how life is going on for the friends of Drumblair as they look to establish a life elsewhere. As always, the setting in the Highlands is gorgeous and makes you want to visit the Castle. there is friendship, family, love and romance to savour as the story develops. This is another winner from Lisa Hobman .

In short: are family ties strong enough?
