A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow by Jessica Redland #Review
It's time for the wedding we've all been waiting for...
Life at Hedgehog Hollow is never dull, although Samantha hopes that the new year ahead will be a little less chaotic as she prepares to marry the love of her life, Josh. But disaster strikes when she checks the rescue centre's bank account after the festive season and discovers it has been emptied. Who would do such a thing, and why? With the future of Hedgehog Hollow now in jeopardy, planning a wedding has lost its shine.
Phoebe is desperate to escape the shadow of her family, infamously known for their attacks on Samantha's beloved rescue centre. Could the kindness of the Hedgehog Hollow team be the chance she needs for a fresh start, or will her family's secrets continue to drag her back?
My Thoughts
This is a wonderful addition to the Hedgehog Hollow series. Full of romance but at the same time, some quite dark themes with social awareness which add to the characterisation and which shed light on how people are behaving. I really love character driven writing! I will be sorry to see this series end, but Jessica does hint that she may give us a glimpse of the characters in subsequent books. You really have a feeling with the Whitsborough Bay stories that it is an ever- increasing world and life is going on.
Samantha's kindness is once again both her strength and the thing which brings pressure to her. She has such warmth but is now learning to take care of herself and to try to keep on an even keel - not always easy to do at Hedgehog Hollow. It has been lovely to read about the hedgehogs and I always enjoy the names she chooses to give them. The past certainly weighs heavily on some of the characters but with the long-awaited wedding on the horizon, there are lashings of romance to offset any sadness. Highly recommended for a gentle, romantic read with a touch of grit.

Thanks for joining the blog tour for A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow. Delighted you enjoyed your return to the rescue centre. The good news is there are two more books before the series ends. Chasing Dreams at Hedgehog Hollow will be out on 28th June this year with a Christmas book (probably Sept) concluding the series. Although it won't be the end for Hedgehog Hollow as I have plans for other stories which feature it although this particular series will end. Thanks for your kind words and your comments about the hedgehog names. I have such fun deciding on themes and making those up! x
