Starlight over Hollyhock Farm by Georgina Troy #Review

Welcome back to beautiful Jersey  and to Georgina Troy for another in her Hollyhock Farm series.  Starlight Over Hollyhock Farm was published by Boldwood Books on November 24th.  When a hit TV series sets up camp at Hollyhock Farm, Jersey’s tranquil lanes are turned upside down. Radio DJ Callum Preston is used to high-maintenance guests – but nothing prepares him for interviewing the star-of-the-hour actor Riley Sharp, or meeting his beautiful, overworked PA, Tasha Dodds. As Callum and Tasha grow closer in the island sunshine, the farm becomes the backdrop for more than just the cameras. But with paparazzi scandals brewing and Callum's family thrust into the spotlight, will their Jersey summer end in heartbreak – or be the start of something wonderful?   My Thoughts  The series expands to include Callum and his family who are celebrating their grandfather's birthday. As a local DJ, Callum  meets most of the islanders and gets to know some vi...

Their Second Chances Season by Ella Matthews #BookReview

Welcome to Ella Matthews for her latest novel, Their Second Chance Season which was published on 24th April.

Their Second Chance Season Can a ballroom reunion...  Lead to a union at the altar?

War hero James Ashworth needs a rich wife to restore his family’s fortune. Despite the scars battle left on his soul, he’ll do his duty—even if everywhere he turns, he sees the woman he loved and lost...

Meeting James catapults widow Amelia back to the past—the letters he stopped responding to while at Waterloo and her subsequent forced marriage. Yet, when she discovers her father’s role in the Ashworths’ misfortune, she’s compelled to help—even if she has no intention of falling for the man who broke her heart!

                                    My Thoughts

This  is a marvellous trip into regency England and introduces you to the Ton where people can mix according to the different customs of the time.  Time has passed since Amelia has known James but she finds that the feelings she felt at the time have not changed.  This is a story which shows you that fami;y ties can be overridden and  that childhood friendships can develop.

This is full of the details of the time amd lets you see how different genders were expected to behave.  Amelia has a certain freedom as she is a widow but even so.she is expected to subjugate her wishes to those of the men in her life.
