My Thoughts

The snow glistens throughout this festive read but the story is about far more than getting the Inn ready for Christmas and a relaunch. There are unresolved family issues from the past which complicates everything and look as though everyone’s future plans are in doubt. Ria and Hayden are too self-contained characters, driven by their careers but with strong family ties. They also have heartbreak in their romantic pasts so romance is the last thing they are looking for.

    I enjoyed meeting all the secondary characters in the story, especially Frank and Nancy and seeing how Ria’s skills in mediation helped get some common ground. All the Christmas touches add to the atmosphere with all the delicious food enhancing the sense of well-being and family ties. You get to hear both Ria and Hayden’s thoughts at different times which moved the story on. In short, this is a lovely read for these Winter months, full of friends, family and romance.
