Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow #Review

We are returning to Hedgehog Hollow,  Whitsborough Bay and its environs for Jessica Redland's Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow. It was published by Boldwood Books on September 6th and is the final novel in her Hedgehog Hollow series.

It's the countdown to Christmas at Hedgehog Hollow Wildlife Rescue Centre, and everyone is gearing up for a festive season to remember...

It should be the most wonderful time of the year for Samantha and Josh as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby. But life at Hedgehog Hollow rarely goes to plan and the pair are faced with adversaries, old and new, and unexpected challenges to overcome.

Fizz's job at the heart of the rescue centre is a dream come true but her personal life is more like a nightmare. With her love life a disaster and her past about to dramatically catch up with her, she needs the love and support of her Hedgehog Hollow family more than ever.

As the snow falls over Hedgehog Hollow, will Samantha and Fizz find the Christmas miracle they need to overcome their heartache and find happiness?

My Thoughts

This is a worthy end to the Hedgehog Hollow series. Although I am sure we will hear of some of the characters again, in future Whitsborough Bay stories, this novel has the task of bringing together any loose ends and giving an indication of the future lives and relationships of the people we have followed. The rescue centre has broadened out in its scope and seems on a solid financial footing. There is quite a web of relationships now and many people have found that Hedgehog Hollow offered them a fresh start.

I enjoyed the festive touches which appeared throughout the story. They added to the feeling of belonging and family. Key moments in lives occur in the story, both birth and death. Samantha is at the centre of them and you realise how strong her partnership with Josh is and how their lives are intertwined with others. You see the best of people but also the worst through instances of animal cruelty. Overall there is a feeling of hope and kindness, however. I have loved the series and can absolutely recommend it. each story adding to the overall picture.

In short: A resounding close to a wonderful series
