Having loved  Lucy Coleman's festive Christmas at the Lock Keeper's Cottage , I was delighted to be invited onto her latest novel, A Christmas Wedding in the Cotswolds. It was published on 2nd September by Boldwood Books.

 My Thoughts

It was lovely to catch up with Immi and Gray , as well as the other villagers who make up their close knit circle of friends. This can be read as a standalone but definitely benefits from reading Christmas at the Lock Keeper's Cottage as there is  quite a lot of background to catch up on. Immi learns quite a lot about what is important to her in this sequel and grows up a little. The story has a warm, community feel, with some acts of real kindness and care.

    Immi learns that it is OK to ask for help in planning her wedding. She also has to examine her feelings about her grandad and her mother. I liked the message which came out of this story: that you have to be true to yourself amd not put on a facade. Everything about Immi's life seems authentic and down to earth. Complicated her family relationships and friendships might be but Immi and Gray learn to look through others' eyes and change their attitudes towards people accordingly. This is a warm, uplifting story with a festive tone at the end.

In short: Community and family values rule!
