The Best Thing That Ever Happened by Sarah Bennett #Review #Halfmoon Quay

I have been enjoying yet another  new series by Sarah Bennett. The Best Thing that Ever Happened   was published on March 17th by Boldwood Books!   One flat. One friendship. One chance to change everything... 🏠☕💗   Kat Bailey’s life is going nowhere. Working at her father’s coffee shop in the picture-perfect Cornish holiday hotspot, Halfmoon Quay, makes her dream of becoming an author feel more fantasy than reality – and playing third wheel to her flatmate’s new relationship isn’t helping. So, when her childhood friend Harry Penrose offers her his spare room, it feels like an opportunity not to be missed.   Harry has his own dreams and if he could just dare to be honest, when he pictures his future, Kat is at the heart of it. But now they’re living under the same roof, Harry knows the risk of declaring his feelings. And when his plans clash with Kat’s family ties, the time has come for her to choose between the life she’s always known — and ...

Don't You Want Me Baby? by Rachel Dove #Review

I am delighted to be on the tour to celebrate the latest romcom by Rachel Dove,  Don't You Want Mr Baby? which was published by  Boldwood Books on 15th November

Amber Fitzpatrick is about to hit thirty and has achieved none of the things she hoped to have done by now. Her dreams of owning her own business seem out of reach. Her boyfriend has just dumped her and now her biological clock is clanging in her head.

But maybe Amber doesn’t need a man for the next stage of her life? Maybe as an independent woman she can have a baby all by herself?

There’s only one problem. Handsome but excruciatingly annoying best friend Tyler Williams. Tyler thinks Amber’s motherhood plans are plain crazy! She just needs to wait for Mr. Right to come along…and maybe he’s closer than she thinks?

But with Amber hellbent on doing it alone, Tyler sets out to prove to her that being her best friend could also come with excellent benefits…if only she's brave enough to take the chance.

My Thoughts

This is the ultimate 'will they, won't they?' with Amber, the central character, trying to sort out what she wants her future to look like. Independent, with no close family to call on, she has relied on her friends and work colleagues for support and encouragement. What she longs for is her own family and, as thirty draws near, her own baby. Wen her relationship hits the buffers, Amber is determined to go it alone and considers the life of a single parent. She is a sparky, fun loving character, whose home is her refuge.

Keeping a close eye on Amber is her close friend, Tyler, who she feels a real connection with. A fantastic chef, she knows that he could walk into a job elsewhere. When he is not there, she realises how much he has supported her. In many ways, this is a story about them both shedding the protective layers they have hidden their feelings behind, bit by bit. This is an entertaining story which shows you the faults and the good sides of both these characters and the power of supportive love.

In short: friends to lovers
