I am thrilled to be taking part in the celebrations for Under One Roof by Samantha Tonge. It was published on February 9th by Boldwood Books.

Robin hasn’t been home for decades. After running away to

The years apart have not made their hearts grow fonder and

My Thoughts
Under One Roof is very much focussed on the relationships between three generations of one family: grandmother, mother and grand-daughter. There are some really touching parts but also, the humour that comes from everyday life and also the sadness where these relationships have drifted apart. As the story develops, you can see more and more that the three women have in common and the reasons behind their past thinking.
Coming back to her childhood home is unsettling for Robin but she begins to look at her adult life in London through new eyes and to re-assess how she wants to be. Full of nostalgic references to Manchester in the 80's, I really enjoyed the descriptions of the city and its landmarks from the past. With character development and a few surprises within the plot, which really shine a light on people's behaviour, I found this to be a totally satisfying read which made me want to know what happened next.

About the Author
Samantha Tonge lives in Manchester UK and studied German and
French at university. She has worked abroad, including a stint at Disneyland
Paris as part of the Opening Crew, and has travelled widely. She enjoys family
time, baking and walking and always knew that one day she would write. Samantha
finally took the plunge seriously in her late thirties, and hasn’t stopped
since. Under One Roof will be her sixteenth book and she has also sold many
dozens of short stories to women’s magazines.
Samantha’s uplifting stories are about identity and
self-discovery, about friendships and communities. She enjoys creating diverse
characters and writing about relatable issues that make the reader feel it’s
not just me. Her books have hit the AmazonUK overall chart Top Ten position
twice and she has won two awards.
