The Little Cottage by the Cornish Sea by Nancy Barone #Review

It's back to Cornwall for a great summer read. Nancy Barone's The Little Cottage by the Cornish Sea was published by Aria on July 3rd. Life doesn't always go to plan . . . After a messy breakup and a nightmare boss, Kate swaps the chaos of London for the calm of Starry Cove—the charming seaside village she loved as a child. She arrives hoping for peace and a fresh start. But life has other plans: Kate soon discovers she's going to be a mother. As she navigates small-town life (and morning sickness), Kate finds friendship in the 'coastal girls'—a warm, welcoming group who help her land a job with Piers, the reclusive owner of the local manor. He's guarded, grumpy and impossible to read... but there's more to him than meets the eye. As feelings grow and secrets slowly come to light, Kate must decide if s he's ready to open her heart again—and whether Starry Cove could be the home she's been searching for all along .   My Thoughts   After...

Starcross Manor by Christie Barlow #Review #LoveHeartLane

I am so happy to be on the tour to celebrate the fourth in Christie Barlow's  Love Heart Lane series, Starcross Manor. It can be read as a standalone. You can read my review of the first in the series, Love Heart Lanehere, the second, Foxglove Farm here and the third, Clover Cottagehere.

Dying to know more about the brooding and mysterious Flynn Carter and the secrets behind his plans for Starcross Manor?

You won’t want to miss the next spellbinding chapter in the Love Heart Lane series – where friends are there for you no matter what.

When Julia Coleman meets Flynn Carter again in the cosy village of Heartcross it can only mean trouble. Flynn might be rich, brooding and sexy, but Julia knows first-hand he’s ruthless and she plans to watch his every move.

When Julia discovers Flynn’s plans for beautiful Starcross Manor her greatest fears come true.  Because Flynn’s dreams of turning Starcross into a luxury hotel could ruin Julia’s dreams…and finish off the community of Heartcross for good.

Flynn makes it clear he doesn’t want trouble, and he’s not the man Julia thinks he is.  As he sets about convincing the community he’s changed, he hopes he can convince Julia to give him another chance too…

My Thoughts

It was such a delight to return to Love Heart Lane for another instalment in the series and to meet up again with some familiar characters. This is such a warm, heart-warming read that you can just disappear into its pages for a little while- a real escape at the moment. Julia has huge plans for her B and B but you always have the feeling that you know where her destiny lies. That is part of the charm.

Friends, family and looking out for each other are major parts of the story and what contributes to putting a smile on your face. No spoilers about Flynn Carter but he is a great central character to share the story with Julia and her friends. You absolutely feel as though you know all these characters and can picture the village as if you have visited. A gorgeous story and a gorgeous series- number 5 please!

In short: A great series full of warmth and friendship.
