Making Memories at the Cornish Cove by Kim Nash #Review

We are back with the Cornish Cove series with Kim Nash's Making Memories at the Cornish Cove . It was published by Boldwood Books on April 17th. You can read my review of  Hopeful Hearts at the Cornish Cove here and Finding Family at the Cornish Cove   here .    It’s never too late… After five husbands and five broken hearts, Lydia feels like she’s always been chasing something. But now she’s found her purpose, and having moved to Driftwood Bay to spend more time with her daughter Meredith, she’s happier than ever. But there’s still life in these old bones yet! With her newfound sense of identity, she’s keen to re-explore the things that made her happy as a younger person. Lydia’s passion was dancing – she used to compete in her younger years, and there’s no place she’s more at home than on the dancefloor. I am delighted to be taking part in the Blog Blitz to celebrate the last 6 novellas in Laura Briggs' best-selling series, A Wedding in Cornwall which are being released in one collection. There is also a great International Giveaway to enter. Details are at the foot of this post.

The last six novellas in the UK bestselling series A WEDDING IN CORNWALL are now available in one collection! Join American event planner Julianne in her final set of adventures 'across the pond' in beautiful Cornwall. From celebrity sightings to a local talent show, from a charming village fete to a secret Cornish garden, there's never a dull moment for Julianne and her Poldark-esque true love Matthew in the quaint village of Ceffylgwyn.

This collection contains A Romance in Cornwall, A Star in Cornwall, A Sewing Circle in Cornwall, A Talent Show in Cornwall, An American in Cornwall, and A Garden in Cornwall. Exclusive bonus materials include a sneak peek of the author's all-new 2019 Cornish romance series!

My Thoughts
It is a lovely idea to publish this collection of novellas which feature Julianne, an American event planner who is based in beautiful Cornwall. In May 2018, I reviewed the last in the series, A Garden in Cornwall and you can read my review here. In addition, I have read Books 7 & 8 in the series.

In Romance in Cornwall, the story is based around writing a romance novel which leads you to wonder how much of it is autobiographical! A celebrated romantic novelist visits the area, looking for inspiration to take her through her writer's block. Julianne befriends her and finds herself reminiscing about how she met and fell in love with Matt. This is a rather neat echo of the first book in the series. Julianne and Matt have recently returned from time away in Seattle and this book deals with her settling back into village life and finding that in her absence, life has moved on. She feels torn between Cornwall and her life in Seattle.

In A Star in Cornwall, the action is centred around the annual amateur dramatic production and a mysterious stranger who is befriended by the villagers. There are all the usual highs and lows associated with such events and it becomes clear early on that there are secrets to uncover. This novella is a quick, light read with new characters to meet and it shows you a different aspect of life in Ceffylgwyn.

In short: An enjoyable collection of stories to escape into.
