(Not Quite) Done With Dating by Bella Osborne #Review

I am delighted to welcome another romcom by Bella Osborne . (Not Quite) Done With Dating was published on January 29th by Penguin .      One bad date too many calls for desperate measures . . .    Nora is well and truly fed up. After more painfully bad dates than she can count, she’s had enough of leaving it to fate to find her perfect match – but she's not quite ready to give up on her love life just yet. As a statistician, Nora trusts numbers more than her gut, so when she finds a formula that could help her conquer the dating game, she has to give it a go. Putting her love theory to the test takes Nora to some questionable places with some even more questionable men, but she won't be deterred – she knows that 'the one' must be out there, somewhere. Even if he's the last person she'd have expected. . . My Thoughts   This is a fun, light-hearted romcom, just right to escape into. Nora is slightly quirky with a belief in the power of statistics wh...

Snowy Surprises in the Highlands by Lisa Hobman #Review #TheScottishHighlandsBook5

I am delighted to be on the tour for Lisa Hobman's fifth Scottish Highlands novel, Snowy Surprises in the Highlands. It was published by Boldwood Books on September 5th.

Magic happens when you least expect it…

Bella Douglas is living her dream life on the Isle of Skye but misses her friends at Drumblair Castle. She has the love of her life by her side, Granny Isla just up the road and has landed a big job to renovate the interior of a gorgeous Victorian hotel for an American client. What could possibly go wrong?

When Bella's new client sends their son to project manage the hotel renovation, things take an unexpected turn for the worse. Ex-model Carlton Somers has set his sights on Bella and doesn’t seem to understand the word ‘no’. But her relationship with Harris is rock solid; nothing can break that foundation … can it?

Meanwhile Granny Isla’s ‘friendship’ with her neighbour Tam Guthrie is going from strength to strength but when drama hits Pabay View Residential Home Bella’s life is quickly sent into a tailspin.

What will it take to get her life back on track?

And can she ever find time to focus on her own happiness and future?

 My Thoughts

This story blends together life at Drumblair Castle with that of the characters who have left to go to live on Skye. I enjoyed meeting them all. Bella is settling into life on Skye and her grandmother is as unpredictable and amusing as ever. Bella is establishing her new business as an interior designer which brings her into contact with some difficult clients and one in particular who stretches her patience as he ignores the boundaries she is trying to put in place. Her work also takes her back to Drumblair Castle.

Romance is in the air and not just for Bella which brings Drumblair Castle onto full stage in her life. Her friendships are as strong as ever and important to her and this continues the uplifting feel that the stories have , full of family and friends. The Scottish Highlands provide a great setting for the stories. The series as a whole repays a read and set in the Winter months has a slight festive twist.

In short: uplifting seasonal read
