(Not Quite) Done With Dating by Bella Osborne #Review

I am delighted to welcome another romcom by Bella Osborne . (Not Quite) Done With Dating was published on January 29th by Penguin .      One bad date too many calls for desperate measures . . .    Nora is well and truly fed up. After more painfully bad dates than she can count, she’s had enough of leaving it to fate to find her perfect match – but she's not quite ready to give up on her love life just yet. As a statistician, Nora trusts numbers more than her gut, so when she finds a formula that could help her conquer the dating game, she has to give it a go. Putting her love theory to the test takes Nora to some questionable places with some even more questionable men, but she won't be deterred – she knows that 'the one' must be out there, somewhere. Even if he's the last person she'd have expected. . . My Thoughts   This is a fun, light-hearted romcom, just right to escape into. Nora is slightly quirky with a belief in the power of statistics wh...

Get ready to fall in love with the brand new romance in the Scottish Escapes series from bestselling author, Julie Shackman.

When romance author Rosie Winters’s own fairytale romance ends with a bang, she’s determined to get away from everything. Packing up her belongings she sets off for the furthest place she can think of: Scotland.

Rosie spent her summers at her late grandmother’s coastal cottage in the Highlands and knows it’ll be the perfect place to wallow for a while. Even better that there’s a gorgeous lighthouse and dolphins in the bay.

What Rosie didn’t expect was to bump into the new lighthouse keeper, Mitch. Despite her recent heartbreak, Rosie finds herself fascinated by the mysterious Mitch. As they spend more time together, is it possible that he needs Rosie every bit as she needs him…

 My Thoughts

As most readers, I always enjoy a story which has an author as its main character. When we first meet Rosie, we see her at a triumphant moment in her career when she feels on top of the world. This does not last and she has some earth shattering shocks in store, which lead to her retreating to her late grandparents' cottage in the remote Highlands. She is looking to escape from everything she has known, even her writing.

It turns out that she is not the only one who is retreating to this remote coast to reset their life. Rosie is devastated to realise that the lighthouse keeper is leaving to be replaced by Mitch, a man of some mystery.  Mitch and Rosie do not get off on the right step but eventually, a friendship begins to develop. Rosie finds herself delving into her family history and uncovering parts of her grandparents' lives which she did not know about.  Rosie finds herself reassessing what is important in life and becomes determined to establish some appreciation for her grandmother's artistic talent.

With a slow burn romance and family secrets, together with a glorious setting, this is a great addition to the series.

In short: new starts
