Arden by G D Harper #Review

We start 2025 by visiting the sixteenth century and meeting two remarkable people from the time, one of whom happens to be William Shakespeare. Arden by G D Harper was published on October 1st by Ginger Cat .   The astonishing untold story of Shakespeare's first play Alice Arden, idealistic and wealthy beauty, burnt at the stake for killing her husband, the former mayor of Faversham in Kent. But was she really the one responsible for the most scandalous murder of the sixteenth century? William Shakespeare, England’s greatest playwright, born thirteen years after Alice’s execution. Why does his first-ever play, written about this murder, not bear his name? Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village by Sarah Hope #Reciew #CornishVillageSeriesBook4 #WaggingTailsDogsHome #PublicationDay

We are returning to the Wagging Tails Dogs' Home for another in the series. Sarah Hope's Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is published by Boldwood Books today on August 11th. You can my review of The Wagging Tails Dogs' Home here and Chasing Dreams at Wagging Tails Dogs' Home here, A Fresh Start at Wagging Tails Dogs' Home here.

BRAND NEW instalment in the warm-hearted romance series from Sarah Hope, for dog lovers everywhere!

Life begins outside your comfort zone…

Book-keeper Megan has always lived life by a set of very rigid rules, but with impending divorce papers on the horizon, she throws herself into a new challenge.

She finds solace and purpose in her volunteer work at a dogs’ home but with finances tight, and soon-to-be ex-husband Lyle controlling her purse strings, she might have to trade the work for something more permanent.

But spending her time in the fresh countryside air, Megan discovers a glimmer of hope for a new beginning, finding strength, love, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow – and maybe, even possibly, a new romance.

A cosy and heartwarming romance set in the beautiful Cornish countryside, perfect for fans of Sarah Bennett, Jo Bartlett and Philippa Ashley.

 My Thoughts

Life goes om in the Wagging Tails Dogs' Home and meeting all the familiar characters adds to the uplifting feel of the story. Their devotion to the dogs is as strong as ever. Megan is one of the new volunteers who arrives to lend a hand. Megan is determined to make amends for her ex-husband's aggression towards the dogs' home and she has left her life with him behind. It becomes clear how controlling he has been as his behaviour towards her gets worse and worse. You see Megan at her lowest but determined to start afresh.

Friendships flourish in the story and there are challenges to overcome. It is a welcoming community and it seems not only Megan is moving on and looking for a new direction. There is a real family feel to the volunteers who all look out for each other. As ever, the dogs are delightful and the story a heartwarming look at life in the Cornish Village.
