After a miserable few years, fun-loving Iona McKenzie tossed her corporate job to the wind, swore off long-term relationships, and escaped to the Hebridean island of Barra to teach water sports. Recently dumped by an ex who labelled him 'boring', Monty MacNeil is having a tough time. When he's tasked with carrying out his late father’s last request to scatter his ashes at Kisimul Castle – the famous castle in the bay – he doesn't expect his trip to Barra to begin by running smack bang into a feisty and gorgeous woman, knocking her off her bike, and almost dropping his father’s urn into the sea. A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street by Jaimie Admans #Review

There is a fairy tale feel to this latest romcom by Jaimie Admans. A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street was published on July 4th by Boldwood Books.

A picture-perfect town; a place where dreams come true. Welcome to Ever After Street...

Will a kiss at midnight change her life forever?

Sadie Winters has spent her whole life doing as she’s told. But when her overbearing aunt forbids her from going to the farewell ball at the beloved local castle, Sadie has had enough!

One magical makeover, one midnight curfew, and wearing a dress of her own creation, Sadie is unrecognizable as Ever After Street's shy seamstress.

Sadie might dream of meeting a handsome prince but the only person to cross her path is Witt – the slightly awkward estate agent intending to sell the castle and dash Sadie’s dreams forever.

As the clock strikes midnight, Sadie and Witt share a magical kiss and Sadie knows her heart is in serious danger. Surely Witt must feel the same way…? Sadie can't hang around to find out.

But as reality dawns the next day, and fate brings Witt to Sadie’s door again, Sadie realises that her mystery estate agent prince has absolutely no idea who she is!

Sadie can’t forget their midnight kiss, but is she brave enough to change her life and find love along the way…?

About the Author

The setting of the castle at the end of Ever After Street sets the scene for this quirky romcom with all its allusions to fairytales, romance and hopefully, happy ever afters. Cinderella looms large in the story where we find Sadie sewing away in the family shop, making dresses to please her demanding aunt. Midnight kisses after a romantic meeting with a masked gentleman furthers the Cinderella feel. Of course, real life intrudes into the story as the castle is threatened with sale and redevelopment as a possible supermarket. The other shopkeepers are as devastated at the thought as Sadie.

Sadie has her own ambitions and a different vision for her shop. There are some amusing moments as she tries to hide her plans from her aunt, Of course, what she really longs for is a close family bond but the shop seems to get in the way. As Witt befriends Sadie, you are sure that he has a few secrets of his own. This is truly escapist reading and you find yourself hoping that all Sadie's dreams will come true.

In short: one enchanted evening...
