The English Channel Series by Rose Amberly #GuestPost #Giveaway

Today I am featuring a guest post by author Rose Amberly to celebrate her English Channel Series . You can read my reviews on the first two in the series here:  Plain Jane Wanted  |   Unwanted Bride  .  You can win a signed copy of Plain Jane Wanted. Details on how to enter are at the foot of this post.  Welcome to the blog, Rose!     Readers often ask me about my inspiration for La Canette island. The quick answer is of course Sark. I’d never heard of Sark when a random internet search came up with a picture of this charming cove in the English Channel. White sailboats floated on cerulean blue sea surrounded by pretty green hills and pink wildflowers. I lost myself for a couple of hours, reading about this island, their unusual laws, their dark sky full of stars and their complex history. It just took hold on my imagination. Later that same day, I remember posting the picture to my Facebook page with the caption “One day ...

In the Heart of Windy PInes by Holly Tierney-Bedord #REview #Giveaway

From the author of Kindle Unlimited All-Star winner Sweet Hollow Women comes a new novella featuring characters from Murder at Mistletoe Manor, Carnage at the Christmas Party, and The Port Elspeth Jewelry Making Club!

There is also a great Giveaway for you to enter. Details are at the foot of this post.

Klarinda Snow is the innkeeper of Mistletoe Manor in beautiful, remote, Windy Pines, Idaho, where she brings her unique brand of hospitality to the tiny mountain town.

When she finds her inn unexpectedly fully booked on a snowy Tuesday night in November, it brings back memories of a tragedy years before. Before she knows what hit her, she and her trusty team of employees (Myrtle, Pierre, and her new night manager, Josephine), have found themselves back at the task of solving another mystery at Mistletoe Manor!

While this book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novella, if you plan to read the books in the Windy Pines Mystery series or The Port Elspeth Jewelry Making Club, it's highly recommended you read those first, as this book contains spoilers that could affect your ability to enjoy them.

My Thoughts

This murder mystery is a great cosy mystery read. It strength lies in its characters who are snowed in at the manor. There are some great echoes of classic crime mystery reading. With some humorous moments and a plot to keep you interested, this is the sort of short read to curl up with on a winter's weekend.

In the small community, there is a built in feeling of claustrophobia which adds to the sense of mystery. You're snowed in and going nowhere. Klarinda Snow may be the sleuth but you can enjoy trying to solve the mystery alongside her. For a quick and entertaining read, you can't go far wrong.

In short: Cosy crime sleuthing
