My Thoughts
This is a gorgeous read for Christmas. We get to meet so many different people, all at different stages in their lives. They are all drawn to the Sugar and Spice Cafe and come to be noticed by Lara who has a certain talent for helping people. There is a growing romance to follow between two people who have had loss in their lives. David, in his retirement, finds himself at a stage in his life where he is looking for a focus in his future. Family is not straightforward but as we find out, love can bring people back together.
Friendships blossom at the cafe where a sense of community is to be found. There is warmth and acceptance to be found, even for a group of new teenage friends who enjoy their time there. If you want an uplifting read with a touch of magic, prepare yourself for a huge dollop of Christmas sparkle!
