A Perfect Devon Farmhouse by Debbie Morrison #Review

A Perfect Devon Farmhouse by Debbie Morrison was published by Prosperina Press  on 28 Jan. 2025.   Escape to the coastal village of Brambleton with this heartwarming love story filled with intrigue and rural charm ‘Heartwarming, emotional and full of community spirit. I couldn't put it down’ Amanda Prowse Clare’s life has just been turned upside down. Yesterday she was a successful London lawyer, about to travel the world on a well-deserved sabbatical. Now she’s back in her childhood home in rural north Devon, after the sudden death of her mother. Brambleton is a picture-perfect seaside village, where everyone knows your name and where secrets don’t stay behind closed doors for long. Clare left it behind for a reason along with an old flame she wants to leave firmly in the past. The Cornish Beach Hut Cafe by Jane Linfoot, #PublicationDay #Review

Welcome back to St Aidan and the world of the Little Cornish Kitchen. Jane Linfoot's The Cornish Beach Hut Cafe is published today on July 12th by One More Chapter

A fresh start among old friends…

Florence May never expected to trade the high life of London for the cosy comfort of a beach hut in her Cornish hometown, but the moment she steps inside she knows it was the best choice she ever made. The fact that it comes with a requirement that she sets up a business on site? A minor setback that’s easily fixed by opening up a surfside outpost of her friend Clemmie’s Little Cornish Kitchen … where Floss finds herself unexpectedly flourishing.

And when the hotel owner next door sets out to buy the land out from under her? Floss calls on her loyal friends to help her save her little slice of heaven. Because if there’s one thing the community of St Aidan does well, it’s banding together to make the most of every second, whatever life throws at you.

 My Thoughts

The are plenty of familiar faces in this return to the community of St Aidan but you can easily read it as a standalone. This story centres around Florence May, the younger sister of Sophie who is returning to St Aiden from her life in London. Following a traumatic time, she is returning to the familiar and it takes time to adjust to her new life. Living right on the beach, Floss as she is known by her friends finds family and friends waiting to help her settle in. Her little beach hut sounds idyllic but she soon discovers that not everything is as idyllic as it seems on the surface, for her and for others.

Floss's young niece and her teenager friends provide plenty of fun in the story. Relationships with her sister and mother are a little bit tricky at times but genuine affection is always there. Reading this romcom felt so familiar and easy, full of the familiar but with some interesting new characters and situations. There is plenty to smile at in this peach of a book.

In short: a gorgeous Cornish confection

About the Author

I write fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines, and lots of heart.

Writing is fab, because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I live in a cottage up a mountain road in Derbyshire, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos. Happily, we're in walking distance of a supermarket. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things French. When I'm not on Facebook, and can't find an excuse for shopping, I'll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.
