Coming Home to the Sunflower Cliffs by Georgina Troy #Review #PublicationDay

Happy Publication Day to Georgina Troy for another in her Sunflower Cliffs series. Coming Home to the Sunflower Cliffs is published today by Boldwood Books and takes us back to beautiful Jersey.

Gabriel has returned to the island of Jersey after ten years abroad to help his aging showbiz parents revive their failing Art Deco hotel, The Encore. This proves to be something of a challenge, especially as his singer father and actress mother are more concerned with staying in the limelight than keeping track of the cash-flow. It looks like Gabriel isnā€™t going anywhere fast. Meanwhile, heā€™s stunned to find that the hotelā€™s new receptionist is Daisy, the girl he fell in love with years earlier in Vietnam, and falling in love with someone who is tied to Jersey is the last thing she wants.

Previously published as A Jersey Bombshell

 My Thoughts

This is Daisy and Gabriel's story. Reunited after several years, it is clear that they still have a connection abut there are some unanswered questions in their past. The hotel on the island of Jersey almost stands as a character in its own right, It is a central hub for those who live and work in there and it is clear that there is a real family feel.

Gabriel's family are all lively characters who add colour to the story. Daisy's family on the other hand, have a much darker tome. The more you find out about them, the more you can understand Daisy.  In Gabriel's Grandmother, Daisy finds a deep friendship and source of comfort. As some dark secrets emerge, Daisy struggles to keep her positive mindset. Looking for a new start, she tries her best to keep looking for what she wants for her future.

In short: sunny days and a wide range of characters
