You never see Rainbows at Christmas by Elaine Spires #Review #BlogBlitz

I am delighted to take part in a Blog Blitz to celebrate the festive romcom novella by Elaine Spires: You Never See Rainbows at Christmas.

Like a rhinestone Miss Havisham Eloise plans to spend Christmas alone, lying on the settee, crying her eyes out and listening to Dolly Parton’s Greatest Hits.  But a fall in the sleet two nights before Christmas lands her at the feet of rough sleeper Adam who is fighting his own demons.  Limping, cut and bruised, she has no alternative but to accept his offer of help. And instead of rejection and solitude there’s friendship and company and the festive season suddenly seems brighter.  Eloise’s never seen a rainbow at Christmas... Until now.

My Thoughts

This is a neat little novella which establishes the characters early on. You soon realise that Eloise and Adam both have their own secrets which they don't initially share, and I was surprised at Adam's story, in particular. Eloise is quite depressed at the beginning but you still see her kind and generous nature. Adam does not seem like your 'usual' rough sleeper and my interest was piqued to find out more.

I enjoyed the story arc and how both Adam and Eloise became connected in to the community. This is ultimately a warm tale where selflessness and friendship are central and you are shown that not all families are close but some need work.

In short: Festive good wishes come true.
