One More Day Of You by Shari Low #Review

One More Day Of Us  by Shari Low was published by Boldwood Books on May 2nd.

Would you give up your dreams for love? ❤️

1990: In a hot, humid Hong Kong summer, three young singers are loving life, performing to packed crowds every night in a swanky hotel bar. Twenty-three-year-old Scottish songbird, Moira Chiles is living the dream alongside Carina Lloyd and Lisa Dixon. They work hard, play hard, and always stick together… until one day Moira has to make a choice that changes everything.

Fast forward to…

2025: In a wet, chilly, Glasgow summer, Moira has just retired after singing in Glasgow pubs and Caribbean cruise ships for three decades. Now she’s ready for a new adventure – one that takes her to Hong Kong to revisit a world she left behind. Moira hasn’t seen Carina or Lisa for over thirty years, but will an invitation to join her on a holiday of a lifetime rekindle the friendships that changed her life? Or will stepping back in time expose secrets that could break their hearts?

My Thoughts

In this dual timeline, you follow the story of different women at two different times of their lives. The characters are multi- layered and connected through friendship/ In 1990, they are taken back to an exciting rime in their lives when they were thrown together in Hong Kong and forged a strong unit. However, as you come to see, they kept some things in their lives private from each other and did not always reveal their true selves.

Fast forward to the present day, when they are much older and at  having lost touch, come together again back in Hong Kong. Not everyone is able to be there but you nevertheless, find out a great deal about them all and how life has been for them in the intervening period. As always in a book by Shari Low, you are given a complex story, with many threads and a lot of character development. The men in their lives add to your knowledge of the characters and by the end of the story, you are fully invested in their lives.

In short: secrets from the past
