Details on how to enter are at the foot of this post. Some places are special enough to heal hearts… Welcome to Little Beaubrook  In a tiny English village hidden away for decades, the mists are parting to reveal a manor which glows gold and tumbledown thatched cottages that have been waiting for the right people to rebuild them.  On moving in day, a diverse group of new neighbours have only two things in common. Their hearts have been broken in some way, and they’ve all signed a contract with some very strange stipulations, including buying one of the cottages for a pound. As Chair of the commonhold association, Albie Curville hopes that by sharing his late wife’s rules for living he can bring these reluctant strangers together to fulfil her dying wish before he runs out of time… and...

Match Me If You Can by Sandy Barker #Review

Here is an entertaining romcom by Sandy Barker. Match Me If You Can was published by Boldwood Books on September 28th

Welcome to the Ever After Agency – a clandestine organisation offering bespoke solutions to romantic problems.

Whether you're looking for the love of your life, a fresh romantic start, or just want to keep up appearances, the agency can tailor a solution to meet your needs.

When Tristan Fellows walks into the agency, Poppy Dean knows she's in for a challenge. A typical bachelor, Tristan has no intention of falling in love, but in order to receive his 30-million-pound inheritance, he must find himself a wife before his 35th birthday.

This may be Poppy’s hardest case yet, but even the most arrogant of men can sometimes warm a woman’s heart…

 My Thoughts

Poppy Dean is the sort of girl who enjoys a challenge and she certainly gets one in her quest to pair off Tristan. The reader knows from early on that there is a huge amount of chemistry going on between them and that that might just be a stumbling block. There are some humorous moments as Poppy tries to come up with the answer. I particularly enjoyed the scene in the restaurant when Poppy is trying to not be noticed. The friendships she has made at work mean that she is trusted to get on with the job, but she seems unsure for much of the story, deferring to her colleagues.

Tristan is a strong character but you see through his arrogance when he is with his friends. He seems to be the polar opposite of Poppy who is always upbeat. He is a reluctant, rather grumpy suitor who she nicknames, Mr Impossible. This is a light, entertaining read with plenty of dynamic between the characters.

In short: opposites attract
