Confetti at the Little Duck Pond Cafe by Rosie Green #Review


It is brilliant to be back at the Little Duck Pond Cafe for the latest instalment in the series with Confetti at the Little Duck Pond Cafe.

Wedding fever is in the air in the village of Sunnybrook. With Ellie and Zak's Big Day on the horizon, the sun is shining brightly on the Little Duck Pond Cafe community. But when dark clouds begin to roll in from more than one direction, several close relationships look to be under threat. Will the wedding of the year actually take place at all?


My Thoughts

By this stage in the series, you really feel that you have got to know the people who live in Sunnybrook pretty well. It is great to get a new character and in Primrose, we are given someone with an intriguing backstory who has a likeable personality. I like the way that these stories span the generations and this is particularly obvious in The Confetti at the Little Duck Pond Cafe. You also think you know the way this story is going to develop but beware, events will not span out as you might expect!

    Ellie is back in centre stage and the story is told from her perspective. Her relationship with her mother is especially touching as her dementia becomes rather more pronounced. This is a story with lots of heart and emotion which you feel invested in. I think that I glimpsed how it could develop for a further instalment- I do hope so. Great characters, a beautiful setting and a heart-warming plot- what's not to like? 

In short: Life goes on in Sunnybrook.

 
About the Author



Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.
