Today we have a wintry escapist read by Kate Frost and are travelling up to a festive Iceland. One Winter's Night was published on August 23rd by Boldwood Books.

With Christmas just around the corner, Molly Bliss has almost hit rock bottom.

 My Thoughts

Set mainly in Iceland, the land of fire and ice is almost another character in the story. Molly loves the country and there are some gorgeous descriptions of the environment and the biting cold. Taken out of her everyday routine, Molly has the perfect opportunity to take a hard look at her life and make some far reaching decisions. Still grieving for her mother, Molly appreciates having her sister and her family around her. Molly’s sister has a marriage which Molly envies and an equal relationship. By comparison, Molly’s relationship with Howard seems one- sided and dull. 

    Molly is not the only character who is at a crossroads in their life. The message of the story seems clear: live your best life and do not be afraid to take risks. This is a lovely festive read which you can get lost in. With its hopeful message and uplifting tone, it is an escapist read. 

In short: be bold and true to yourself.
