Today we have a contemporary romance which is bursting with Christmas cheer: My Christmas Fake Fiance by Linda West. 
 
Snowflakes are falling on Kissing Bridge Mountain, and Devlin is going home at last. But he can't go home without a fiance, even if it has to be a fake one! When he meets smalltown girl, Allie, who has a Christmas crisis of her own -they strike up a deal. Soon, the fickle snow flurries of fate send them down a destined road they never expected...

My Thoughts

This is the first 'Kissing Bridge' novel which I have read and I thought that the snowy setting really lent itself to a Christmas Romance story. I particularly appreciated the humour in the whole situation and all the characters were likeable (apart from one or two!). Allie stands out as someone with more on her mind than hair and make-up and I liked her approach to life. Family is important to her and as she proves, she will consider anything to keep it safe. 

    Woven into the story are Allie's concerns for the environment which gives her character added depth and at the same time, brings her into conflict. For some escapist, holiday reading, this measures up. Christmas sparkle and a huge dollop of romance make it a great festive read.
