Return to Lily Pond Lane by Emily Harvale #Review

I am delighted to be returning to Lily Pond Lane for Emily Harvale's new novel, Return to Lily Pond Lane, on the opening day of its blog tour. If you want to take a look, I have reviewed previous visits there here: New Beginnings   |  Summer Secrets   |  Autumn Leaves  |  Trick or Treat.

Life couldn’t be better for Mia and her friends in Little Pondale – until tragedy strikes…

Mia Ward is on cloud nine after a magical Christmas and New Year and she isn’t the only one. Everyone on Lily Pond Lane seems to be living in blissful harmony. Until tragedy strikes… not once, but twice. And as Hettie Turner points out: ‘Bad things always come in threes.’

Whilst the other residents of Little Pondale are wondering what might happen next, Mia is busy worrying about her friends and trying to help them with their grief. But she needs to be careful. Just when she thought she had everything, there’s a very real chance she might lose the only thing she truly wants.

My Thoughts

I love how new characters in this series are all incorporated into village life and there is always a great feeling of community and friendship. This is needed more than ever in this latest book as some dire events come to pass. There is always the touch of the other worldly around the place and it is no surprise that Mia has been having troubling dreams as the story begins.

It takes some doing to sustain a series across five books and keep the storylines feeling fresh and new. Emily Harvale manages this and you are really invested in how the latest story pans out. I am pleased to say that there is yet another instalment to come, A Wedding at Lily Pond Lane, and I am eager to read this. I will be reviewing it on 31st March.

In short: Further events in Little Pondale strain relationships.
