Coming Home to Maple Lodge by Alison Sherlock #Review

I am delighted to feature the first in Alison Sherlock's new series set in the Corswolds. Coming Home to Maple Tree Lodge was published by Boldwood Books on June 20th. A family and hotel in desperate need of help… Maple Tree Lodge has been the home of the Jackson family for over a century. But the hotel has never been a success and, following the sudden loss of his father, architect Ben Jackson soon discovers the hotel is close to financial ruin. Ben has to make some tough decisions if the hotel is to survive and his family are to keep a roof over their heads. With the hotel in urgent need of a renovation, Ben’s sister calls on the talents of her best friend, interior designer Lily Watson. Cash strapped Lily needs a successful project to prove to herself and her high-achieving parents that she can carve a successful career and Maple Tree Lodge sounds like just the place for Lily to showcase her talents. Forever Love at Wildflower Lock by Hannah Lynn #Review #WildflowerLockSeriesBook4

Today I am reviewing the final instalment in Hannah Lynn's  delightful Wildflower Lock Series, with the fourth book, Forever Love at Wildflower Lock which was published by Boldwood Books.

Daisy May thought she had everything figured out. After successfully establishing her coffee shop at the idyllic Wildflower Lock and with things going well with charming Theo, she was ready to embrace her happily ever after. But when Theo pops the question, the happiness is overtaken by worries.

Because meeting Theo’s family for the first time is not accompanied by the warm welcome she hoped for. Theo’s parents disapprove of her and they have no qualms in showing it. And when they reveal secrets about Theo’s past, Daisy is left in a spiral.

As insecurities creep in, and with even her own mother expressing her doubts, Daisy begins to question her future with Theo.

Will love conquer all, or will she give in to her fears and cancel the wedding?

The heartwarming conclusion to the Wildflower Lock series, a gorgeous story of friends, found family and above all, romance!

My Thoughts

I am quite sad that this is the final story in the series as I have enjoyed all the novels but found this final one to be a satisfying full stop to the series. Daisy has the shock of her life at the beginning of the story which seems to unsettle her and Theo  as they contemplate the future. Meeting Theo's parents is an experience Daisy could do without and her tensions with her own mother are still there. It is her tight friendship group which keeps her going through some anguished times.

Family, friendship and the family you choose to surround yourself with seem to dominate the story. There are plenty of romantic moments but several seem to end badly and Daisy has quite a lot to figure out as to what she wants her future to look like. Working out what she really wants seems to give Daisy all sorts of doubts where before she was full of certainty. The setting at Wildflower Lock has been a great part of the story and a source of her creativity and link to family in the past.  I can't imagine her anywhere else.

In short: taking a leap of faith
