 My Thoughts

This is more about finding a fresh start for Adeline and her daughter Lili, than running away from a situation at home in the UK. She wants to forget the lies she feels her -family told her, but comes to realise that she has a strong family tie with the brother she has left behind. You get the impression that all her thoughts have been about starting anew and to an extent, disregarding the affect her actions might have on his life. 

    The little bookshop proves to be a safe place for Adeline and she settles into life in the village in Provence. There are lots of heart-warming moments in the story and Lili's growing friendships cement them deeper into village life. As Adeline develops her skill as a bookseller, it brings her closer to its owner, Monique. There are mysteries to unravel in both their lives. Romance blooms slowly with Andre and you can really buy in to Adeline's growing love for her newlofe.

In short: Provence casts its magic
