With the hotel in urgent need of a renovation, Ben’s sister calls on the talents of her best friend, interior designer Lily Watson. Cash strapped Lily needs a successful project to prove to herself and her high-achieving parents that she can carve a successful career and Maple Tree Lodge sounds like just the place for Lily to showcase her talents. A Children's Book to Encourage Kids and Their Guardians to Move More, Sit Less and Decrease Screen Time.

This unique story takes a different stance to many popular titles in this arena, with a fun activity that encourages children's active play while aiming to get families moving and reading together. It takes the humour and colour in kids' yoga books such as Breathe Like a Bear by Kira Willey, Yoga Bug by Sarah Jane Hinder, and You Are a Lion by Taeeun Yoo to a whole new energy level with active play for the entire family.

 My Thoughts

This is a really fun book to share with young readers who will respond to the colourful, engaging illustrations and will, I am sure, be unable to resist having a go at some of the movements. There is a wide range of movements to explore and plenty of play opportunities which can come from them.

There are also some useful tips at the front of the book which are aimed at adults, to enable them to get the most from the book. As it stresses, this book is intended as a starting point and should be adapted according to the child's age. Giving the reader lots of opportunities to learn through movement, it will appeal especially to those who are kinaesthetic learners, I am sure. The story is full of positivity and enthusiasm and will be a great one to share.

In short: get active!
